Mandatory Labor Commissioner Registration For All Car Washing And Polishing Employers

All car wash and polishing employers that conduct business in California must register with the Labor Commissioner. The Labor Commissioner combats wage theft and protects workers by enforcing labor laws. Car washing and polishing employers that operate without registration may face a $100 civil fine per day, up to a maximum of $10,000.

This requirement does not apply to car wash services for charitable, educational, or religious purposes, or car sales or rental businesses.
