Are Agreements To Waive Or Release Wages You Are Owed Enforceable?

In the world of work, it's important to know your rights. If you haven't been paid yet, sometimes employers will ask you to sign away your right to those wages in order to receive a less wages than you are owed.  That's why it's against the law for employers to make employees sign an agreement to give up their claim to wages that they haven't received.  It's may only be okay to sign a written acknowledgment that you are being paid what you are owed.  If you signed a paper like that without getting paid in full, don't worry – it's probably not valid.
