The latest 2022 U.S. Census illustrated the pay gap between Latinas and White non-Hispanic males. Latinas make on average 52 cents to the White, non-Hispanic male’s dollar. This is even lower than in 2021 when it was 54 cents to the dollar. According to the National Woman’s Law Center, Latinas lose $1.18 million over a 40-year career, $29 thousand every year, and $2 thousand every month due to the pay gap.
Equal Rights Advocates and Latinas need help to close the wage gap. You can help by emailing Congress pre-drafted emails to pass the Raise the Wage Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act. You can use your social media to help raise awareness by using the hashtags #LatinaEqualPay #Trabajadoras.
